If you ever wondered what book arts means, 👀 check out this professor's video. She is creating a "Flutter Book". There are many different book construction types. Book arts incorporates what we traditionally consider a book to do and be, such as having covers, pages, sequence, telling a story, relaying facts. Yet Book Artists take this to another level. 📖In book arts they do this by manipulating spines, pages, covers and transforming them into a noticeable work of art. I hope you enjoy this . Let me know what art you've been working on. I miss my artists!🎨
Art has a voice. Use it. We can share our beliefs, our feelings of injustice, saddness, anger and love overcomes. Celebrate transformation using beauty and who you are. The famous artist, Romare Bearden absorbed what was around him and created statements with his work or musical compositions as he states in the video. He loved jazz and how it built upon itself. True collaboration and random unity. Notice how he searched for the pulse of the city, repetitive shapes and colors. Watch as he plans and brainstorms. Play some jazz music! Try and make a collage like him or a new one for yourself. Capture your inspired feelings and voice you want the world to hear in your work today. Art expression heals. Use it for yourself and others.
For more about Romare Bearden check out this website: www.civilrightsmuseum.org/romare-bearden I am learning a new way for you to engage and explore. It will be a visually stimulating setting where you can click links to online resources and fun. It is under construction as I learn new tools, but I cannot wait to bring it to you soon. It is fun to create your own personal space, why not go virtual and mix things up a bit!
